Safari days on the Serengeti with @wildandclassicsafaris

The past few days we had an incredible opportunity to explore the African savannah, starting in ngorongoro crater and ending in the Serengeti.

There is SO much life around in Tanzania. The Maasai tribes guiding cattle and goats, antelope and zebras roaming the savannah, and so much more. It was rare that we felt alone in the Serengeti! Cold, dewy mornings turned into blazing dusty evenings with controlled bush fires lighting up the distant plains.

I could go on and on about each encounter we had, but mostly thankful for Wild and Classic Safaris & @a_modern_odyssey for organizing and leading this expedition!

First time exploring the southwest US! Fun fact this is the furthest inland I have ever been. Majority of my travels are ocean oriented, and this was such an incredible experience doing something different.

I love the details of the desert- dusty winds and star speckled skies at night. I felt so small in such an expansive landscape of sand and stone; what a privilege it is to explore a world as beautiful as ours

Maybe you just need to go back to the mountain by the sea.

This was by far one of the craziest hikes I have ever done in Hawaii. You start by trekking up the side of a mountain with ethereal views of kualoa in the background, traverse over the tallest waterfall in oahu, and eventually make it to a beautiful platform at the convergence of three mountains. On the way down, you hike this skinny ridge seemingly straight into the ocean, to view the stunning valley to the left. My favorite place in the world, this 9 mile hike means the world to me.

Fun fact! Flowers hold significant and sacred meaning in many cultures. From leis to Canang Sari, and even a hibiscus tucked behind the ear- they each represent something special.

As many know, a lei is a warm gesture of welcome and aloha in Hawai’i. Canang Sari is a daily handwoven palm leave basket symbolizing gratitude, found everywhere throughout Bali and perfuming the island in incense. And many island nations know a flower tucked behind the right ear means a woman is single, while the left means she’s married or in a relationship 🌸

I love the limitless power of the ocean. being able to observe marine life in such a profound and intimate setting as the sea floor is something i’ll always cherish and crave. if I could sleep on the ocean floor, frankly I would.
